Sara Carillo

Sara completed her Ph.D. in 2013 at the University of Naples “Federico II”. Her research was mainly focused on the elucidation of lipopolysaccharides structures derived from Gram negative pathogens involved in diseases or living in extreme environment to understand their adaptation mechanism. Following her Ph.D. she joined Prof. Stefan Oscarson’s research group in the UCD working on phosphorylated heptose synthesis. She joined the Characterisation and Comparability Lab in 2015 working on the influence of extractables and leachables from single-use bioreactors on the Chinese Hamster Ovary cellular N-glycome. Sara is currently working with on a collaborative project funded by Thermo Fisher Scientific as the team leader.
