Speakers

Dr Chris McCready

Job Title: Head of Process Innovation, Sartorius Data Analytics.

Biography: Chris McCready is Head of Product Innovation with the Data Analytics business unit at Sartorius with chemical engineering degrees from University of Waterloo and McMaster University. Chris is responsible for expanding Sartorius’ data analytic capabilities including answering the needs of the modern data scientist. Previously Chris was part of Corporate Research managing the Computational Bioprocess team, that build and test modelling approaches for biopharmaceutical unit operations, developing virtual twins and advanced control applications with a special focus on intensified and continuous manufacturing methods. Chris joined Umetrics in 2004, working with standards committees and industry regulators to promote the use of multivariate methods in health science manufacturing and later became part of Sartorius through acquisition of Umetrics in 2017.

Dr Alessandro Butté

Job Title: CEO and Founder, DataHow.

Biography: Alessandro Butté is a chemical engineer, entrepreneur, and CEO of DataHow, with over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and in developing machine learning solutions for manufacturing processes.

He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from ETH Zurich in 2000, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He later returned to ETH Zurich as a senior researcher in the group of Prof. Morbidelli.

In 2008, Alessandro joined Lonza (Switzerland), where he led the downstream technologies group. He returned to ETH Zurich in 2013 as a senior lecturer and researcher to lay the groundwork for a new venture, DataHow. Alessandro is the author of several patents and has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles.
