Multivariate Data Analysis (MVDA) with Sartorius

Overview

This 2‑day, instructor‑led course, hosted by NIBRT and delivered by Sartorius, gives a practical introduction to Multivariate Data Analysis (MVDA), its main principles, and how to use it.
The goal is to show how to turn complex data tables into robust, easy‑to‑interpret models and plots. MVDA helps separate signal from noise in data with many variables and is widely used in research, development, production, and quality control across industries such as pharma, biotech, food and beverage, pulp and paper, and chemicals.
Using the SIMCA® software, participants learn how to visualize data, build reliable predictive models, and interpret complex datasets with confidence.
SIMCA® provides a straightforward way to analyse data, explore relationships, and document results with flexible report templates.

Key topics covered

On completion, participants will know how to:

• Import and contextualize different types of data.
• Organize, visualize, and pre-treat different types of data.
• Understand the basic principles of the PCA, PLS, and OPLS methods.
• Perform MVDA modeling on their own data.
• Use modelling statistics and diagnostics to help assure a good model.
• Identify and interpret important model parameters.
• Create models for real-time process monitoring.

Who should attend

The course is intended for researchers, scientists, and engineers who work with data collection and analysis. The methods are general and can be applied in many fields where the aim is to gain as much insight as possible from the data.
Typical uses include data mining, data overview, outlier detection, root-cause analysis, classification, prediction, and real-time process monitoring.
No prior knowledge of statistics is required.

What do Attendees Obtain on Completion?

Certificate of completion, training materials and 2 months access to the SIMCA® software.
