Data Literacy for Biopharma Professionals

Overview

Data is now a critical quality attribute of every biopharma process, yet many teams are never given the chance to build confidence in reading, questioning, and protecting it.
Data Literacy for Biopharma Professionals is a one-day, hands-on course delivered at NIBRT for staff working in regulated biopharma environments. It is designed to build practical, everyday data skills, with no prior statistics or IT background required.

Through a mix of short lectures and structured practical exercises, participants work with realistic batch records, logbooks, and process/QC charts. They practise spotting data integrity issues, interpreting trend and control charts, and mapping how the data they generate flows through to quality decisions and batch release.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to apply ALCOA+ principles in their daily work, read common charts with confidence, and understand why the data they capture matters to product quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key topics covered

  • Data integrity fundamentals (ALCOA+)
  • Types of data across a biopharma facility (paper, LIMS, MES, sensors)
