NIBRT hosts transition year students on annual TY programme

NIBRT hosted five transition year students last week as part of our annual TY program. This was the sixth year that NIBRT has run this program and it has become a highlight on the institute’s calendar.

The five-day placement at the NIBRT facility gave students the opportunity to experience the state-of-the-art bioprocessing facilities and learn from scientists and engineers working in the research and training teams. Over the course of the program, students participated in lectures and workshops, gaining hands-on experience in a real-life bioprocessing facility.

NIBRT’s TY program provides a unique and exciting opportunity for students to explore the world of bioprocessing and gain valuable insights into the industry. The program was well-received by both staff and students, who had a great time throughout the five days.

If you are interested in participating in the NIBRT TY program in 2024, details will be posted on the institute’s website, newsletter, and social media channels next September.  This is a fantastic opportunity for students who are interested in science, engineering, and bioprocessing to gain practical experience and develop their skills. Participants for this year were selected through an essay writing contest, and the entry process for next year will be announced at a later date.

NIBRT was delighted to host these students and give an insight into our facility and look forward to continuing to provide valuable opportunities for students to explore and learn about bioprocessing in the future.
