European Researchers’ Night
Join us at NIBRT for an exciting day of discovery and fun as we open our doors for European Researchers’ Night 2024! On Thursday the 26th of September from 3pm to 6pm, NIBRT, the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training, invites you to explore the fascinating world of biopharmaceutical manufacturing and cutting-edge scientific research.
This family-friendly event offers something for everyone. Our research scientists will host engaging, hands-on demonstrations, perfect for kids and adults alike. Learn about the amazing science behind your body—explore the makeup of blood, discover how DNA is formed, and see what monoclonal antibodies look like! You can even craft your own antibodies out of Play-Doh, build DNA from sweets, and taste “blood” made from marshmallows and chocolate!
But that’s not all! Our researchers will give a series of short talks on groundbreaking work in cell therapies and bioprocessing, providing insight into how NIBRT is shaping the future of healthcare.
Take a tour of our world-class biopharmaceutical manufacturing pilot plant, where we train the next generation of industry professionals and solve some of the biggest challenges facing biopharma today. Please note that for safety reasons, closed-toe flat shoes and clothing that covers the legs are required for the tour. The tour is suitable for ages 13+.
Don’t miss this opportunity to get hands-on with science, meet our researchers, and see where the future of medicine is being made!
