European Researchers’ Night 2026 at NIBRT

Friday 25 September, 4pm–6pm · Free · All ages welcome

How is a medicine actually made? Come to NIBRT and find out.

Build a DNA model out of sweets, look at real cells down a microscope, and play our science board games — hands-on activities for all ages, with our researchers on hand to answer questions. They’ll also give short, plain-English talks on their work in cell therapies and bioprocessing: the science that turns living cells into treatments for cancer and other diseases.

Visitors aged 13 and over can also tour our biopharmaceutical manufacturing pilot plant, a full-scale training facility where the next generation of industry professionals learn their trade. It’s a rare look inside a working plant floor. (Tour dress code: closed-toe flat shoes and clothing covering the legs are required for safety. Anyone in sandals, open shoes, shorts or a skirt won’t be able to join the tour.)

Bring the family, meet the researchers, and see where the future of medicine is being made.
