Inside NIBRT Research event

On Thursday the 25th of September 2025, we held our European Researchers’ Night event – ‘Inside NIBRT Research: An Open Lab Event’. The doors of our facility were opened to the public and attendees of all ages enjoyed engaging with our world class team of researchers and trainers. We had a range of interactive demonstrations and outreach activities to showcase the science behind biopharmaceutical manufacturing. From learning about proteins and DNA, to growing cells in bioreactors and even a science themed escape room! Our training team gave a talk on ‘How are Medicines Made’ while early career talked to the group about Cell Therapy and AAV Manufacturing. Attendees also had the opportunity to walk through our pilot-plant. 

European Researchers Night is an important opportunity for researchers across all disciplines to engage with the public. The aim is to showcase the excellent research happening across Europe and to increase the interest  of young people in STEM and research careers.
