Role Purpose
Reporting to the Senior HR Specialist, the HR Administrator will play a critical role in delivering the employee experience required to retain our talented team. The HR Administrator will be independently responsible for all HR administration and for supporting the Senior HR Specialist, HR Director, department Managers and staff on a range of people and culture projects and initiatives. This can be a hybrid role, operating both onsite and from home at the preference of the role holder.
When asked in last year’s Employee Engagement survey, NIBRT employees rated their satisfaction with the existing HR team at 100%. The team are looking for a HR professional to join this team who is customer service oriented in their approach, who knows that every employee interaction, big or small, is an opportunity to influence their satisfaction with NIBRT as their chosen employer.
The successful candidate will enjoy being the primary HR administrator in NIBRT and providing a professional HR service to all research and training colleagues. You will join a HR team in the Biopharmaceutical space –in which NIBRT is uniquely positioned, interfacing between academia and pharma industry on a global level making it a stimulating and enriching environment to grow and develop yourself as a HR professional, supporting the NIBRT team.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely as a team with the Senior HR Specialist and HR Director.
- Act as the first point of contact for all day-to-day administration employee queries.
- Deliver on employee on-boarding tasks, including contracting, work permits, file setup, database record entry, induction, and site orientation.
- Maintain and update the (TMS) HR system of all employee records.
- Provide HR response, with guidance from HR Specialist, on interpretation and application queries re. NIBRT policies and procedures and employment law.
- Identify, review, and modify HR processes to ensure they meet the needs of the organisation and are as efficient and effective as possible.
- Work with NIBRT’s external Wellbeing partner to identify relevant activities, plan events, communicate and ensure participation of employees.
- Additional ad hoc HR administration and workshop/project work as assigned.
Essential Criteria
- Third-level qualification or evidence of continuous learning desirable – HR specific qualification/chosen career path preferred.
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years’ specifically of HR administration experience, in a HR Department as part of a HR team.
- Good understanding of general company HR policies and procedures and employment law
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise own work
- High attention to detail, with the ability to work on own initiative unsupervised and be capable of achieving deadlines unprompted
- Engaging communication style and interpersonal skills
- Interest in HR as a longer-term career path, desire to develop HR skills, appetite to get own ideas and suggestions heard and actioned.
